Paul Gavin’s “Twilight: San Clemente Pier” is the second San Clemente Pier Life tryptich piece. In this oil painting on linen, the sun has set; it's warm, the sky is clear with a slight breeze and the water is calm, reflecting the brilliant colors. Many people enjoy the pier during and after sunset for a before or after dinner walk and to meet friends along with strollers, joggers, fishermen and of course as always some pier romance under a waxing crescent moon. Some are illuminated by the the pier lights at intervals down the pier while all are lit by the overall still glowing sunset sky.
